French Immersion: Teaching More Than a Language

They organized a potluck with Isfeld’s juniors to end the year and to celebrate Francophone culture. Each student signed up for a certain traditional Quebecois dish. During the potluck there were numerous activities and each class performed a French Christmas song. One student, Emma Shaver, described the potluck as “a celebration of dance, song, and food.”

Since most of the bullying goes under the radar, children need to become role models of the school yard, who can become “active witnesses, standing up for their peers and speaking out against injustice,” she said.
